A Real Party

As much as we love playgyms, magic shows and trips out, it’s our opinion that all children should have at least ONE traditional style party comprising of interactive games like musical statues, pass the parcel and so on – we do all this but SO SO much more besides…

Choose a theme!

The first place to start is to choose a theme (if you want one) as normally children have a pretty good idea of what they like. Our most popular themes are ‘general’princesses and heroespirates and princessesdance party (mini disco plus more) and seasonal parties – eg. Christmas, Easter, non-scary Halloween.

Depending on the gender of the child, we change the emphasis and costume to suit, but all our themes are suitable for boys and girls.

There is no extra charge for the above themes : ) If you’d like something you don’t see here, click here for details.

A typical party

All our parties are as interactive as possible – we don’t do a ‘show’ as such but the party is confidently led from start to finish with maximum participation. This is the format of most of our parties. We can change the format, especially if yours is a wedding, large party or you have to have the food at a different time.

When you send out invitations, the party will advertised as a 2 hour party, although in effect our entertainment is for 90 minutes. Here is a brief summary written as if the party were starting at 1.30pm:
1.30pm-1.45pm: children arrive whilst entertainer sets up.
1.45-2.30pm: Entertainment (see below for details)
2.30-3pm: Food and Happy Birthday, plus ballooning
3-3.15pm: further entertainment (see below)
3.15pm: Entertainer packs up, party bags given out and goodbyes
3.30pm: End.

The first section:
We start off with by setting the scene, action songs, group games, new and traditional party games, maybe a puppet and then a little magic. We may even include the grown ups in a little game too (don’t worry – nothing embarrassing!)
We always do a pass the parcel type game (we bring this plus a prize for each child) and all the activities are given a twist to suit the theme.

During the food:
The children are led to the tables and whilst they are eating we do the balloon modelling. This way the children are not left anxiously waiting for their balloon. Towards the end of the food, we play Happy Birthday as you bring out the cake.

The last section:
This is the ‘mini disco’ part with all the musical party game favourites such as statues, hokey cokey, dance competitions, fantastic bubbles and so on. We conclude the party by giving out the balloons and directing the children to where you are giving out the party bags (if you’re doing them. Check out the link on the right for The Little Treasure Box for your party bag supplies!)

Who supplies what?

We bring the PA, music, props, prizes, pass the parcel – everything in fact in terms of entertainment. You’ll need to provide the venue, venue decoration, food and drink, cake and party bags. We will arrive 15mins before to set up and will require about the same afterwards. All we need is a table and somewhere to plug into.

Ages and numbers of children catered for

Due to our tried and tested, excellent party format, our parties are suitable for 3 year olds upwards. Most of our parties are for 4, 5 and 6 year olds but we do below and above that too. We have plenty of experience in delivering the entertainment in an age-appropriate manner. If you are having a party with a wide age-range of children present that is no problem to us. If you are having a party for say a 1 year old and you want it tailored for that age group, we can do this too (obviously we expect the parents to participate!)

Regarding numbers, most parties are around the 25 children mark. We can do parties for larger or smaller numbers of guests with ease, but the price quoted is usually for up to 30 children in order to allow enough time during tea for the ballooning.

When you let us know of the number of guests, please include in this number the siblings of guests who are staying with their parents. We do not know who is on the guest list and as a result always give a balloon to each child present. We will not have time at the party to make extra balloons for children who have not been accounted for and the last thing we’d want to do is turn anyone away :-( However, it is not a problem for us to make extra balloons by prior arrangement – we only need to know the final number the day before. Typically, it just costs an extra £10 for the extra balloons (depending on the final number) If you want to be spared of this hassle, just book the 4:30 slot where I’m not in such a rush to pack up!

Balloons are always a feature of the party as they are ALWAYS so well received – you have no idea :-)

We can do shorter or longer parties. Shorter parties cost the same as a 2 hour party. Generally it’s another £25 per 30mins after that.

Parties that are further afield will also incur an extra cost for time/fuel.
